Wave of You (2021)

A custom piece created for a remarkable scientist. He asked me to create a special piece to give to his wife for their 20th wedding anniversary. Him a virologist and her a biologist, he wanted an ocean wave that contained strands of DNA. With this input, I created this piece with two waves of DNA forming a heart. The moon in the night sky is what the moon looked like on their wedding night (I asked him what day he got married and looked it up on a lunar table). I added ultraviolet-reactive and glow in the dark paints as a surprise touch. He was very happy with the piece and that his wife loves having it in their home on O’ahu.
